The Beginning
The Beginning
Dore & Rose started four years ago with a trusted supplier that they still work with today. When starting out, they took the traditional route of buying inventory instead of dropshipping. They decided to ship the inventory to a local warehouse and fulfill orders to their local market from there.
Every time their production round was ready, they immediately shipped multiple tens of containers to their warehouse in The Netherlands. Their brand was growing rapidly in the Benelux region, to the point where everyone knew who they were. You could find a Dore & Rose deep sleep mask in almost every bedroom.

Supply Chain
Supply Chain
Dore & Rose has been producing their products with the same supplier, with whom they are very happy, constantly releasing new products based on customer requests. Production always took around one month.
Once the production was done, the products were ready to ship to the warehouse in The Netherlands. The cheapest and only way back then was to ship products to a local warehouse via sea freight, which took roughly 2 to 3 months.

Issues with Scaling
Issues with Scaling
The brand was running well, and Dore & Rose was growing in volume, receiving more and more orders each month. Ten months ago, they hit the $400,000 revenue per month mark.
However, Bob struggled with a few things that made it tough to scale the brand to where he wanted it to be. His goal was for Dore & Rose products to be found in every bedroom around the world.

Long Lead Times:
Long Lead Times:
Dore & Rose had lead times of 3 to 4 months. When they received many requests for a specific product or a product went out of stock in their local warehouse, they needed to invest in inventory that they could only sell 3 or 4 months later. The time to market was very slow.

Inventory Risk:
Inventory Risk:
Bob needed to make projections on how much inventory would be enough for the coming 4 months, risking ordering too much or too little stock. With no possibility to order more stock when running low, products that went out of stock stayed out of stock, leading to missed orders. On the other hand, products that sold worse than expected resulted in high storage costs for unsold inventory.

Cashflow Issues:
Cashflow Issues:
Due to the need to invest large amounts of money in big batches of inventory that would only be available to sell 4 months after investment, cash flow was a significant struggle for Bob, preventing him from scaling.

The Switch
The Switch
Dore & Rose was looking to scale globally, improve lead times, minimize inventory risk, and improve cash flow management.
Bob, the co-founder of Dore & Rose, and Daniel, the co-founder of Ecomflow, already knew each other through some mutual business friends and got introduced. Daniel introduced the direct-to-customer shipping method to Bob, which left him speechless.
It all sounded too good to be true, but a couple of months later, after making the switch, Bob says it wasn’t—it was true.
Bob quickly decided to make the switch and fulfill a big part of Dore & Rose orders through Ecomflow, making them their trusted partner in China.
We inbounded the stock from the production facility of Dore & Rose to our warehousing facility within 2 days after the products were ready, connected Shopify, and synced all the SKUs, and we were ready to go.
This entire setup took a total of 12 days, and by making this switch, Dore & Rose became a global brand, with their supply chain sorted to ship to over 65+ countries, with lead times of 1 month and no inventory risk.

65% of Dore & Rose’s target audience was still based in the Benelux as they were slowly expanding globally. People in the Benelux highly value next-day delivery, which is only possible by having a local warehouse.
So, we set this up. We established a hybrid model for Dore & Rose, allowing them to maintain the local warehouse for next-day delivery in the Benelux while simultaneously fulfilling global orders from our warehouse in China.
We do this by flagging all orders from the Benelux and assigning them to the local warehouse, then focusing on all other orders coming from other countries.
