About Ecomflow

Ecomflow is a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) company based in China, specializing in fulfillment solutions for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands worldwide.

We currently support 150+ brands with efficient, scalable logistics and are now looking to bring on larger, enterprise-level clients.

About the job

We are looking for an experienced Global Trade Compliance Manager who can completely own our shipping compliance, product classification, and regulatory frameworks. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex global trade regulations and our day-to-day warehouse operations. You will be responsible for building out robust import infrastructures (such as Ecomflow-as-IOR) and ensuring our operations and warehouse teams can adapt instantly to changing international trade laws. The ideal candidate is an expert in import infrastructure management, a meticulous process builder, and a results-driven executor who moves with speed and precision.

What will you do

  • Regulatory Foresight & Strategy: Continuously monitor evolving trade policies and regulatory updates across key target regions (US, EU, UK, and AU). Proactively assess their impact on Ecomflow's cross-border fulfillment operations and implement adjustments before bottlenecks occur.

  • US Import Infrastructure (IOR Ownership): Fully own the "Ecomflow-as-IOR" framework. File, organize, and manage all necessary legal and customs documentation. Oversee critical regulatory rollouts (e.g., CBP/CAPE) and actively manage our relationships with US customs brokers and sureties.

  • EU/UK Import Infrastructure: Supervise and manage compliance strategies regarding the removal of de minimis thresholds, IOSS registrations, EU/UK VAT compliance, and EORI setups for our brand partners.

  • HS/HTS Classification at Scale: Curate, optimize, and own Ecomflow's comprehensive HS Code/HTS classification datasets. Establish standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for product classification and partner with our Tech team to integrate these frameworks directly into our automated systems.

  • Dangerous Goods (DG) & Product Compliance: Oversee the proper verification, documentation, and classification of complex product lines. This includes managing FDA codes, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), NON-DG letters, lithium battery compliance, and restricted goods protocols.

  • Brand Onboarding Compliance: Serve as the primary, expert point of contact for new client inquiries. Guide enterprise brands through compliance onboarding, clearly detailing regulatory demands, necessary documentation, and framework requirements for global fulfillment.

  • Strategic Stakeholder Management: Act as the central liaison connecting all external trade and compliance entities—including customs brokers, sureties, freight forwarders, regulatory bodies, and external legal counsel—with our internal warehouse operations managers.

Requirements

  • Startup Environment Experience: Must have prior experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment. You must be comfortable with ambiguity, hands-on execution, and building compliance frameworks from scratch without a corporate playbook.

  • Specific Industry Background: Minimum of 4+ years of experience working specifically within an Ecommerce Aggregator, Ecommerce Logistics/Warehousing service provider, SaaS platform, Cross-Border Trade (CBT) Marketplace, Freight Forwarder, or Customs Advisory firm.

  • Deep Cross-Border Trade (CBT) Expertise: Must possess a profound, end-to-end understanding of the ecommerce cross-border trade process, including hands-on experience managing HS/HTS classification systems, customs clearance documentation, and global tax frameworks (e.g., Section 321, IOSS, VAT).

  • CN 3PL & Stakeholder Management: Must have direct, proven experience working closely with mainland China (CN) 3PL partners, warehouses, and supply chain stakeholders.

  • Linguistic Fluency: Must speak, read, and write in excellent English and Chinese (Mandarin) to manage international clients and mainland operational teams effectively.

  • Location: Must be physically based in Hong Kong or mainland China.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary package.

  • A vibrant, fast-growing startup team culture.

  • Constant learning and professional development opportunities at the intersection of tech and global supply chain logistics.
