At Ecomflow, we know that accurate billing starts with transparent data. Across the e-commerce fulfillment industry, product weight information typically lives inside disconnected spreadsheets, leading to confusion and billing discrepancies. That changes today.
We are introducing a new Product Weight & Billing Information section in the Dashboard. This update gives your team full visibility into how each product’s billed weight is determined. It includes scale photos, dimensions, and clear explanations, all in one place.
Why we made these changes
As client catalogs expanded and billing became more complex, the existing system began to fall short.
We heard feedback such as:
“I don’t understand which weight you're using for billing.”
And
“Sometimes the numbers in the sheet don’t match what’s on the invoice.”
To solve this, we built a new system that focuses on transparency, clarity, and verifiability. Now clients can quickly understand how weights are calculated and billed.
What’s new
🧾 Complete weight breakdown inside the Dashboard
Each product detail page now includes a dedicated section showing:
Actual Scale Weight with packaging
Image proof of the product on the scale
Product dimensions in centimeters (Length, Width, Height)
Calculated volumetric weights for both YunExpress and DHL
Final Billed Weight, clearly highlighted
All the necessary details are now visible in one place, without needing to reference external files.
Clear and consistent billing logic
Our backend now calculates the following:
YunExpress volumetric weight is based on the formula (L x W x H) divided by 8000, rounded up to the nearest 100 grams
DHL volumetric weight is calculated using (L x W x H) divided by 6000, rounded up
Bulk detection is triggered when any dimension exceeds 60 cm, 45 cm, or 35 cm, or if manually flagged
Final billed weight is determined by comparing actual weight with volumetric weight, with special handling for bulk shipments
Every result is paired with a clear explanation so our clients know exactly why a certain weight was used for billing.
